After successfully entertaining us throughout lockdown with their crochet creations and their magnificent post box toppers for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we are delighted to be working with charity crochet group the Barkham Hookers on a post box topper trail for the Coronation.

Royal themed toppers will adorn post boxes across the town and surrounding areas and a handy map has been created for residents to follow if out walking or as part of a ‘topper’ hunt with the children.

Gaynor White from the Barkham Hookers said: “We’ve really enjoyed making the post box toppers over the last few years and love to get involved in community projects with the Town Council. Being able to use our skills to raise a smile and bring people together is a wonderful thing”.

Local charity First Days have been working with us on the topper trail as this is a fantastic free activity that everyone can enjoy and a wonderful excuse to get out in the fresh air.

Make sure you take photos as you go around and tag us in on social media #wokinghamcoronation or on facebook @wokinghamtowncouncil
