We’ve been working with Wokingham in Bloom and the groups within to set up ‘bee highways’, also known as ‘wildflower corridors’ in a bid to restore habitats that pollinators depend on and use to traverse the country.
- We’ve been planting wild flower meadows and strips within our parks to diversify the areas and make them pollinator friendly
- We’ve added pollinators into the plantings areas around the town
- We’ve strategically reduced grass cutting in certain areas and parks to enable pollinators to grow through naturally
- We’re encouraging residents to keep a little of their garden wild each year, reduce the number of times they cut their grass and maintain shrubs and plant pollinator friendly plants to encourage pollinators to visit.
