A two day festival where you can meet and listen to talks by authors of children’s books. Learn about the process of writing and have a lot of fun!

Events are held in Wokingham Town Hall and Wokingham Library
What does it cost?
Tickets are £3 a person per event.

Wokingham Children's Book Festival is a partnership project between Wokingham Town Council and Wokingham Borough Libraries service.

Wokingham Children's Book Festival

The Wokingham Children’s Book Festival will be held on the weekend of Saturday October 18th to Sunday October 19th 2025. Put a note in your diary and don’t forget to book some events!

There will be 13 events, aimed at a range of ages, where you can meet authors giving sessions on subjects such as the writing process and their characters.

Booking tickets

  • Book tickets via our Book Festival Ticketsource page. Or find direct links on each event section below. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
  • Under 12’s must have an adult with them.
  • In person tickets remain at £3 per seat. Children 2 years old and younger who will sit on parents laps do not need a ticket.

Bookseller

Most workshops are followed by a book signing and we are pleased to announce that Fourbears will be our official bookseller with stalls at each venue. Fourbears can take cash and card payments.

Joining Your Event

Wokingham Town Hall (RG40 1AS) is in the centre of Wokingham, 5 to 10 mins walk from Wokingham Railway Station and less than 5 mins walk from the Broad Street bus stops. Nearest car parks are Cockpit Path and Denmark Street. There is also a large multi story in the Carnival Development just over 5 mins walk from the Town Hall. There is limited on street disabled parking outside the Town Hall.

Please enter via the Book Festival marked entrance of the Town Hall for tickets to be checked.

Wokingham Library (RG40 2AF) is in the new Carnival development. Just over 5 mins from Wokingham Town Hall. It is 5 mins walk from Wokingham Railway Station and nearest bus stops. Nearest car park is Carnival Multi story.
