Over the last six years, we have managed to improve the surrounding of our railway station both aesthetically and environmentally. In 2022, four Juneberry trees, 16 Mexican fleabanes and 32 agapanthus were planted. In 2023 a further three additional Juneberry trees and two large flower towers were added.
The area around Wellington Road was wildflower seeded in 2021 and each year there are oxeye daisies that flower.
The raised planter opposite the station entrance bursts with colour in the summer. The Hawthorne tree supplies pollen and nectar to the early bees and bumblebees.
