Holt Copse is an ancient, semi-natural woodland (listed in the English Nature ancient woodland inventory) and a wildlife Heritage Site (BBOWT) located in Joel Park. Holt Copse Conservation Volunteers (HCCV) was formed in 1999 by a group of concerned local residents with the aim of working with Wokingham Town Council to manage Holt Copse for the benefit of the local community and the natural environment.

HVCCV undertake practical conservation work each year, including:

  • Hedge laying
  • Coppicing
  • Tree planting
  • Path maintenance
  • Bird box installation and maintenance
