Wokingham in Bloom like many outdoor community projects around the country was inspired by the RHS Britain in Bloom competition, supporting and rewarding nature-based initiatives in villages, towns and cities for their environmental impact and community effort.

From nurturing unloved spaces into community assets to working with children in schools and local charity initiatives to engage and stimulate residents of all ages.

Each year Wokingham in Bloom goes from strength to strength. Whilst funded by the Town Council, it is run by local volunteers and supported by businesses and charity groups across the town.  Having started with 6 volunteers 13 years ago, Wokingham in Bloom has more than 150 regular volunteers today, working on 34 projects across the town. New volunteers are always welcome! Age is no barrier as we’ve volunteers over 80 and as young as 9! Some with gardening skills and some just happy to come along and help. Being part of Wokingham in Bloom is a fantastic way to meet new people, enjoy the great outdoors and learn new skills along the way.
