The Arts and Culture Committee's aim is to encourage, support and, in conjunction with other organisations, deliver artistic and cultural events to users of the Town Centre. This is done in a number of ways; through yearly and established events like Sunny Saturdays, Fun Day and the Living Advent Calendar; through one off events such as the Jubilee celebrations; and through pilot initiatives such as the Films in the Town Hall.

Films in the Town Hall

In 2012 the concept of showing films in the Town Hall was trialed. The free showing of The Artist, aimed at bringing together a group of people who were interested in starting a film Society, was sold out with a substantial waiting list. From this showing an independant group was formed that have gone onto become the Wokingham Film Society and are showing films within the borough.
