Wokingham Borough Council initiated a Community Governance Review earlier this year to ensure that the governance arrangements for the towns and parishes are as effective as possible, and to consider electoral and warding arrangements within local communities.

Wokingham Town Council established a working group of councillors to review the town’s boundaries, electoral and warding arrangements, and have submitted a proposal to Wokingham Borough Council to consider amendments to the boundaries with Wokingham Without Parish Council, Finchampstead Parish Council and Winnersh Parish Council.

Wokingham Town Council’s CGR submission will be reviewed by Wokingham Borough Council, who will publish draft recommendations from July 2025, with a final set of recommendations due to go out for public consultation in August.

More information about how the process works, why the borough council is conducting this review and what the timescale will be can be found on the CGR page on Wokingham Borough Council’s website.
