This event is in Wokingham Market Place, 11am to 3pm. Featuring the Lion Dance, East Asian Street Food, Performances, crafts and new year traditions.

Town Hall Tabletop Takeover
This event is twice a year in Wokingham Town Hall. Once around February/March and again in October/November.
Join Wokingham Town Council with guests Eclectic Games for a day of Board Gaming fun.
Try different games with the help of professional demonstrators, and get advice from Eclectic and maybe even take a new game home.

Mayor's Sunday
This event takes place on a Sunday in mid May at the Town Hall.
At this traditional ceremony, the current Mayor retires and officially hands over the position of office to the new Mayor who will make his/her declaration of office. It is the first meeting of the municipal year.

Children's Fun Day
This event is on the Saturday of the latter Bank Holiday weekend in May.
Located at Langborough Recreation Ground each year the Town Council puts on a Fun Day for the children of the Town. Activities have included Face Painting, Magic shows, Mobile Farm, Fairground Rides and crafts. Activities are all free and aimed at the under 10’s.

Party in the Park
This event takes place on Elms Field on the first Saturday in June. Featuring fantastic music on an open air stage and street food vendors. Mid afternoon to approx 9pm.

Armed Forces Day
Wokingham Town Council, with the kind support of Saint Sebastian Wokingham Band playing music in Peach Place, marks this date to help raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in HM Armed Forces, and to provide an opportunity for the nation to show its appreciation.
It takes place on the last Saturday in June.

Theatre in the Park
This event is on Elms Field during the Summer holidays. Usually early in August.
Wokingham Town Council commission a local theatre company to perform two performances of a play for one day in the open air.
Previous years have included adaptions of Jack and the Beanstalk, Romeo and Juliet and Midsummer’s Night Dream.

Heritage Day
Heritage Open Days celebrate England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission. Every year in September, buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors, ranging from castles to factories, town halls to tithe barns, parish churches to Buddhist temples. Wokingham Town Council arranges an Open day at Wokingham Town Hall each year, usually on a Saturday. This is often planned around a national theme or a more local anniversary. Local partners, e.g. Wokingham library and Wokingham Churches often take part too. The day includes historical exhibitions, children’s activities and competitions, refreshments etc.

Wokingham Children's Book Festival
This event takes place in mid-October over a weekend. Taking place in two venues, Wokingham Town Hall and Wokingham Library meet, listen to talks and join in with workshops by authors of children’s books. Learn about the process of writing and have a lot of fun.

Remembrance and Armistice
Remembrance Sunday is held on the second Sunday in November, generally the nearest to 11th November. Dignitaries, councillors and uniformed organisations parade from Wokingham Town Hall to All Saints Church, where wreaths are laid at a service held at 3.00pm, in partnership with Churches together in Wokingham.
Armistice takes place on 11th November and commemorates the peace agreement signed between the Allies of World War I which took effect at 11.00am – the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” in 1918.
A two minutes’ silence is held at 11.00am in the Market Place to remember this day.

Dressing the Christmas Tree
This event takes place in the Market Place.
An annual event, the Dressing takes place after the Winter Carnival and is in early December. Local schools are invited to produce decorations for the large tree in the Market Place and these are received by the Mayor at the Dressing. Christmas songs are sung and refreshments are provided.
