A bush of pink roses growing near a brick building

Linda, Hazel and Alex are the heart of this community. They care about the street’s historical value, conservation and gentle improvement, hence they work closely with the Wokingham Society. They read and comment on every planning application in the conservation area.

During the redevelopment of Peach Place, these inspired residents saved all the historic roses that were being removed and housed them until they could be planted in their forever homes.

Linda has established a great relationship with Brian, our local street sweeper, who ensures all perennial plants, such as Lobularia maritima and Thymus vulgaris, grow well alongside the houses.

In 2023 year they planted five signature shrub roses (including Roald Dahl, The Lark Ascending and Lady Of Shalott) in the Cross Street border to continue the tradition.
